Max Verstappen reminded the grid of his immense prowess as he stormed to victory at the
Italian Grand Prix.
The
Red Bull Racing driver, who returned to the podium last time out in Zandvoort, was quick to show his intent for the race weekend as he stormed to a record pole position during qualifying.
The four-time world champion continued in similar fashion on race Sunday and, aside from his early battle with
Lando Norris, was immediately in command of the race. Following the early incident, Verstappen gradually extended the gap, with the 27-year-old ending the race over 19 seconds ahead of second-placed Norris.
While the
McLaren duo had to settle for the podium places, Scuderia
Ferrari enjoyed a relatively impressive outing, finishing fourth and sixth, only separated by the Mercedes of George Russell. Alex Albon finished in seventh to continue his impressive run. Gabriel Bortoleto finished in eighth place, while Kimi Antonelli and Isack Hadjar completed the top 10.
