Is the Formula 1 calendar already complete? GP of Vietnam still not cancelled

The Formula 1 calendar was further complemented on Tuesday by the return of the Turkish Grand Prix and the expected double race in Bahrain and closing in Abu Dhabi. However, there is nowhere to see that this is the official list.

Due to the corona virus, the Formula 1 season has been thrown upside down. The original calendar with 22 races was postponed and would eventually be completely modified. It is no longer possible to travel indefinitely because of the virus, nor is it possible to race in every country. That is why the European calendar came into being.

After a start of eight races, the calendar has been supplemented more and more. After Portimao, Mugello, Sochi, the Nürburgring and Imola, Istanbul can now also be added. The Turkish GP thus returns to F1, after an absence since the last race in 2011. Bahrain and Abu Dhabi complete the calendar.

At least, that is the expectation. Nowhere has it been said that the calendar that has now been published is actually the official calendar for 2020. Where the Chinese Grand Prix was cancelled immediately, it has still not been cancelled in Vietnam, for example. So there still seems to be room for an extra race.

Since the coronavirus, Formula 1 has aimed at a calendar of 15 to 18 races, and where some previously thought that even ten would become a task, there are now at least 17 races on the calendar. So an extra race is always an option. Besides Vietnam, Jerez is still a much mentioned name.
