The German has started 239 Formula 1 races before clinching this podium. He held the record for having the most races without a top 3 finish. A fellow German driver, Adrian Sutil, now has that record once again. Out of the current drivers, Yuki Tsunoda now has the most Grands Prix with a podium, with that number standing at 99.
The last time a German driver was on a podium was in 2021 at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, where Sebastian Vettel finished in second place.
