Christian Horner shared a light-hearted anecdote involving his wife Geri Halliwell from his time at Red Bull, recalling an amusing moment during a job interview.
“This guy has come for a job interview and ended up singing Iranian love songs”

Appearing on The Christian O’Connell Show, the former Red Bull CEO and team principal recalled an occasion during a job interview when the candidate admitted he was also a musician — a revelation that immediately caught Geri Halliwell’s attention, with her returning shortly afterwards with a guitar and inviting him to sing.
“I remember during some of the COVID period, I was interviewing people for the new engine project that’s running in the back of the Red Bull car. There was one guy that I really wanted to get. Anyway, she brought in a cup of coffee and I could see that he was kind of surprised that here was Ginger Spice bringing in a cup of coffee for us.
“Anyway, he said, ‘Oh, I’m a musician.’ She said, ‘Oh, what do you do?’ And he said, ‘I play the guitar.’ So she turned up five minutes later with a guitar and said, ‘Play to me.’ So this guy has come for a job interview and ended up singing Iranian love songs. Geri is listening to him sing. And sure enough, he signed from Mercedes the next day.”

Horner reveals how unlikely F1 outfit nearly became the Red Bull team

Speaking at the European Motor Show a few weeks ago, Horner shared an intriguing story involving Eddie Jordan, explaining how the team that once bore his name came close to evolving into the Red Bull Racing outfit we know today.
Horner went on to explain that Jordan was on the verge of striking a deal that would have seen his team transform into Red Bull’s Formula 1 entry, before the opportunity ultimately emerged through Jaguar instead. Recalling the moment, he said: “He tried to sell me the team, and Bernie Ecclestone was pushing me very hard to, to see if I could find a solution with Eddie, but it didn’t happen.”
