Horner makes prediction: 'Max can still win a lot'

Max Verstappen won his first world title of his career last season. The Dutchman has the talent to take several world titles in the coming years, but Christian Horner does not dare to state whether he can grab the record.

The Red Bull Racing driver has been known as a great talent for many years. Due to the dominance of Mercedes, he never managed to come close to winning the World Championship. Last season that changed when he suddenly had a competitive car and finally managed to beat Lewis Hamilton.

For next season, Verstappen is seemingly the favorite for another win. Horner is confident that the driver will succeed in regaining his place among the best, but does not dare to say whether Verstappen will ever hold the record. That stands in the name of Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher with seven World Championships.

"It depends on the material we provide him with," Horner told BILD. "Hamilton already had a title before he joined Mercedes and had a very dominant period there. Fernando Alonso is a driver who deserved more than two titles but didn't get them. Max can still win a lot, but it always depends on the car and the competition."
