Horner doesn't understand why race didn't start at first: "Now it's too wet"

Christian Horner thinks the decision to postpone the race at this time is right, as the rainfall on the Monaco circuit is too heavy. Still, the team boss doesn't understand why the race didn't just start on time at 15:00 local time.

"It's the right thing to have stopped it now, not sure why we didn't get going [initially] but now it's too wet. We were neutral about it. We needed something, whether it be a safety car or something. It's Monaco it's a bit of a lottery now," Horner told Sky Sports.

Max Verstappen himself also complained about the on-board radio. The Dutchman did not understand what the FIA is waiting for. The drivers are now in the pit lane after the announcement of a red flag. During the formation lap, it appeared that it was too dangerous for a standing start, Horner explained.

"A standing start would be dangerous, we're expecting rain for 10 minutes and then it will get better. If it does, then a standing start would be acceptable. We've all got radars we are tuned into, but it's a micro climate here. If we were sitting on pole position we'd be less happy with the rain," said the Red Bull team boss.
