Red Bull Racing will not be working with Porsche, the Austrian racing team announced in Italy. After a series of intensive talks, both parties decided not to join forces. According to Christian Horner it is a logical decision, he told Viaplay.
According to reports, Porsche wanted to get its hands on fifty per cent of the shares of the racing team, which Horner, among others, would not consider a good idea. The British team boss emphasised in the interview that Red Bull mainly wants to go its own way.
"That's always been the route," Horner says, acknowledging that there have been internal discussions. "Of course we have had discussions, but we have attracted the best talents in Formula 1. We have a great factory."

Horner does not rule out new Honda partnership

With Red Bull and Porsche failing to reach a deal, there is an opportunity for Honda. Horner does not rule out future talks with the Japanese company. "There can of course be talks with Honda about certain aspects of the engine," said the team boss, who otherwise relies mainly on the qualities of his staff.
