The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be the last Formula 1 race for Honda (for now). Masashi Yamamoto, director of Honda, is proud of what his team has achieved in recent years.
It has been a long road for Honda to get to where they are today. The Japanese manufacturer stepped in a year late with the hybrid engine and started off with a big gap to the competition as a result. The setbacks have been mounting, but that only makes Yamamoto even prouder now, on the eve of the title fight in the final race.

Dream of Honda

''Honda returned to Formula 1 in 2015 and the project did not always go smoothly, with many highs and lows and it was very tough, especially in the beginning. When I think back to those early days, I am very proud that today we are going into the last race of our final year, about to fight for the championship,'' Yamamoto said in the Honda press release.
''Winning the titles has been our dream and we have progressed towards it step by step. Now, that dream is almost within our grasp, but I honestly do not know if we will be smiling or crying after Sunday’s race'', concludes Honda's top executive.
