Hockenheim organisers hoping 2018 spectacle opens the door for long-term deal

For now, the German GP is amongst many drivers contracts. That's right, it's uncertain if it will fit in for 2019, but the hopes of the organisers remain high.

The 2018 version of the race was voted as many peoples favourite Grand Prix so far. It could be this spectacle which keeps the F1 circus visiting Germany. 71,000 race day fans attended the circuit this season, 20% above average over the past five years.

The country plays host to many significant homes in F1. These include; Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes to name just a few. And this is why bosses are desperate to keep this race on the track.

"Logically, we're negotiating. We have not written off Formula 1. We want Formula 1," Hockenheim boss Georg Seiler told Autosport.

The Miami Grand Prix is now a certain void for 2019. This has opened up the eyes of Seiler but he'd prefer a longer deal.
