Lewis Hamilton conquered again during the Spanish Grand Prix and with that took a bigger lead in the world championship over Max Verstappen. The Englishman showed his class in the Barcelona race.
Verstappen was in the lead for much of the race, but ultimately failed to maintain his position. "That does say something about the qualities of this guy and about the speed," Kees van de Grint said to RTL GP Slipstream about Hamilton. "Of course he has been helped by a very good car, but he has always had a teammate. Despite that, there is no one who has come close. This is the best man Formula 1 has known so far. They've been untouchable all these years."
It looked like it was going to be a tough battle in Spain, but it turned out differently as Hamilton easily drove towards and past Verstappen on fresher tyres. "Of course it is too tactical and too much influenced, because in the race it was not exciting at all. If Hamilton can drive one and a half to two seconds faster than Verstappen, what is the excitement?"

Criticism of Pérez

After the GP, one of the topics of discussion was the performance of Sergio Pérez. The Mexican driver has been unable to keep up with his teammate all season, preventing Red Bull from taking advantage in strategy.
