Lewis Hamilton, in his own words, was "surprised" by some unexpected problems that surfaced during the winter tests. At the same time, he is confident that Mercedes will be able to quell those problems.
Porpoising was a problem all the teams suffered from. Some had largely eliminated it before the test days in Bahrain, but Mercedes was still bothered by bouncing cars.

Hamilton hopes Mercedes can get around problems

For Hamilton, the problem came as a surprise, but he insists that was the case for everyone. "I don't believe it was seen in the wind tunnels," he tells Sky Sports prior to the race weekend in Bahrain.
"We're just discovering the limitations in our car and working on ways to get around them," continued the 2021 number two, who added he has "full confidence" that the team will find a way through it. "Whether that's this week or the next, or several, we'll see," Hamilton said.
