Things did not go particularly great for Lewis Hamilton in Q3, but in Q2 Lewis Hamilton impressed. Peter Windsor, among others, thought it was a great performance by the Brit. The seven-time world champion will start from sixth place in the Mexican Grand Prix. He was faster than teammate George Russell during Q3.
Windsor analyses qualifying: "Lewis Hamilton was quickest in Q2. He wasn't particularly quick in the first phase of Q2, did an 18.3. But in the second phase, on the second set of soft tyres, a 17.5. This was Lewis finding the absolute limit of the car as much as Max found the limit in Q3," Windsor revealed in a detailed analysis on his YouTube channel.

Windsor praises Hamilton's performance

"Very impressive performance," the analyst continued. "Very cool under pressure, driving superbly and I think that was the limit. George couldn't go any quicker. He did another 17.6 so Lewis out-qualified him by two tenths. He'll feel very good about that.," concluded the 71-year-old.
