Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes had a lot of issues in Monaco with the compounds and getting the most out of them, but Hamilton has assured that Monaco was a
"one-off".
Hamilton was very vocal on the team radio during the Monaco Grand Prix about the graining on his tyres, which prevented him from chasing down the cars in front of him in the Principality.
The graining problem is probably why Mercedes have opted to bring so few of the hyper soft compound to Canada. Not that Hamilton knows that.
"I don’t even know what tyres we have here," he told the press in Canada.
"None of them are any good apart from the hypersoft.
Andrew Benson then reported that Hamilton assured the press on site that all the problems that Mercedes had with tyres and with graining were "just a one-off" in Monaco.
Mercedes have been nothing but dominant in Canada for the last three years, so it's certainly not hard to believe Hamilton that things are going to go well in Canada. Let's see if the Silver Arrows can duplicate last years' one-two!
