Lewis Hamilton was involved in another impeding incident during FP2 for the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang, this time involving Gabriel Bortoleto. The Brazilian driver was highly critical of the seven-time world champion’s behaviour on track, voicing his frustration over the incident.
The Ferrari driver was stationary in the middle of the track as Bortoleto approached at high speed from behind, forcing the Audi driver to make a sharp move to the left to avoid a collision.
Bortoleto reacted furiously over team radio, making his frustration clear at Hamilton’s behaviour on track and expressing his disbelief at being blocked despite the Ferrari driver appearing to be aware of his approach.
"What the f**k is this guy doing man? He knows I'm coming but just keeps blocking."
The seven-time world champion was summoned to see the stewards at the end of the session to provide his version of events and explain what happened.
