Lewis Hamilton hopes to continue his good form in two weeks time after his victory in the
Qatar Grand Prix. In Saudi Arabia, he will then have to battle with his competitor
Max Verstappen again. According to
Andrew Shovlin, it looks very good for Hamilton.
During the first two free practice sessions in Qatar, it was already apparent that Mercedes was faster than
Red Bull Racing. The Austrian team then failed to make up the difference, especially after Verstappen was given a grid penalty for ignoring a double yellow flag.
More powerful engine for Hamilton
The events of the last two weeks are in Hamilton's favour.
"We've seen pretty big swings of performance over the recent races, but if we look at the track in Saudi, I think it should suit us," Shovlin told
Motorsport.com.
"For Lewis, we have got the more powerful engine to go in the car, so that's going to give him a useful engine."Mercedes' chief engineer then explained about the team's engines. "There are two power units that we are racing. Here we had the less powerful of the two in the car, due to the nature of the circuit. So that side of it is in a good place at the moment."
