Lewis Hamilton has called out his old school teachers following his record, sixth British Grand Prix wins at Silverstone, vowing to prove them wrong "until my dying day".
The Brit drove masterfully to claim his seventh win of the season and extend his lead at the top of the Drivers' Championship. He did benefit from the safety car, brought out after Antonio Giovinazzi spun into the gravel but he drove composed throughout proving himself once again.
Hamilton had a word for his teachers after the race and expressed his confidence in his own ability.
"I know that my teachers will be watching and until my dying day I want to prove them wrong, and all the negative things people have said to me," said Hamilton according to BBC Sport.
"When I was eight-years-old, I really didn't know what it was like to have money, and fame and I just want to keep going and inspiring people now.
