Lewis Hamilton hopes to extend his contract at Mercedes so that he can continue working at the German formation beyond 2023. In an interview with AP News the British driver reveals that he still has a lot of energy to go for his goals in Formula 1.
With seven world titles under his belt, Hamilton was very successful in the motorsport class for many years. However, the driver lost his joy last season after losing the battle with Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi. According to the Briton, however, he is fully back again.
"I love this sport. I love racing. I would have definitely said at the end of last year that I lost a bit of the love for it, because as you know, it was difficult," Hamilton says. "But I just refuse to let that moment be a deciding factor in my life and my career. And I still feel fit and focused."

Hamilton wants to take eighth world title

Hamilton sees that Mercedes still fails to compete with Red Bull Racing, but is confident that his team will be able to do so next season. He reveals that he is working hard behind the scenes with his team to make this happen so that he can still go for his eighth world title in 2023.
