During the first part of qualifying, Max Verstappen was on a flying lap. Riccardo Adami, Hamilton's race engineer, however told the Briton that Verstappen is slowing down. As a result, Verstappen had to abandon his lap.
Ultimately, it did not influence the outcome of qualifying, as both drivers made it through to Q2.
At 17:55 local time, both have to report to the stewards for this incident, before they can speak to the media in the paddock. The stewards will then decided whether Hamilton will face a penalty for this aforementioned incident.
Pierre Gasly and Lance Stroll are also required to report to the stewards. The Aston Martin driver impeded the Frenchman in the Nouvelle Chicane also in Q1.
