Haas say Steiner's lawsuit is off: 'Have resolved the dispute'

Haas F1 have shared to GPblog that their former team principal, Guenther Steiner, has reportedly with his filed lawsuit against the team. The two parties reportedly reached an agreement during mediation proceedings that lasted more than 28 hours. Court documents support Haas' statements. Steiner has not yet responded.

The Haas team shared the news with the following statement: "Haas Formula, LLC is pleased to announce that Guenther Steiner and Haas Formula, LLC have resolved their dispute, that Guenther Steiner has withdrawn all allegations previously made in his lawsuit, and all claims asserted against Haas Formula, LLC have been dismissed with prejudice. Both Mr. Steiner and Haas Formula, LLC wish each other success in their future endeavours and will have no further comments on this matter."

The official documents from the Mecklenburg Country Clerk of Superior Court reveal that the voluntary mediation between the two parties lasted a total of no less than 28 hours and 36 minutes. The former team principal 'dismissed the case with prejudice' the team wrote, and the total cost of just over $14.000 were said to be shared by the two parties. GPblog has asked Steiner for a response.

Steiner was Haas' team principal for many years, until his contract expired at the end of 2023. Following that, he was not offered an extension. In May 2024, he went to court because he believed that his former boss had not fulfilled certain agreements. For example, the team had allegedly continued to use his name for promotional purposes after his dismissal, and had withheld promised bonuses from him. Haas responded to this by filing a lawsuit against Steiner regarding his book, 'Surviving to Drive'. That case was already won by the former team principal at the end of previous year.
