Haas intend to appeal against unsuccessful protest on Force India

Haas F1 has submitted a notice of intent to appeal against a decision made by the FIA stewards. Their protest against the Force India team was deemed unsuccessful.

Earlier this week, Haas started a protest suggesting Force India's entry into Formula 1 was illegal. They insisted the points scored by Racing Point should be invalid because that particular team didn't build the car.

The notice of intent buys Haas an extra 96 hours to make a final decision, which takes them past the conclusion of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Team boss Guenther Steiner said the extra time was the right thing to do given the complications and length of the issue.

"I didn't really have time to read it through, it's a big document they sent back explaining why," Steiner told Sky F1.

In other news, Romain Grosjean's incident with Pierre Gasly in FP3 has been put under investigation.
