Red Bull Racing driver Pierre Gasly admitted he suffered with a "snowball effect" at the Austrian Grand Prix, with the Frenchman only managing P7 at his team's home race.
Gasly made a mistake in Q3 and was left down in P8 at the start of the race. Team-mate Max Verstappen suffered with a slow start and was battling with his colleague in the opening lap - before eventually going onto win the race.
However, Gasly was left all the way back in P7 in effectively the same car as his team-mate.
"I struggled with the traffic at the beginning and spent quite a lot of time there," Gasly said. "It kinda was a snowball effect with the time we spent behind, the hotter everything gets and just struggled with that, struggled to get past Kimi (Raikkonen) and the cars around.
"After the pit stop, I pushed too hard and destroyed the front tyres after the first few laps. And after that, just struggled with blistering. It wasn't the best management on my side, so it makes the afternoon quite tough."
