Pierre Gasly probably has the most difficult task in Formula 1 this season, having to compete against Max Verstappen.
Gasly replaced the Renault-bound Daniel Ricciardo after impressing with Toro Rosso last year,  but it’s a huge ask to put him up against Verstappen after only one full season in Formula 1.
Gasly finished 15th in the standings last year, with a best result of fourth in Bahrain. Races in Monaco and Hungary also stand out as highlights from Gasly’s season, but Red Bull have taken a huge risk on a man who only has five points finishes to his name.
“My target in F1 is to be World Champion and to be World Champion you need to beat the best drivers,” Gasly said. “I think he (Verstappen) is the most talented guy out there and to race in the same team as him in an amazing opportunity.”
“I’m only in my second year in F1, I still need to develop and to learn a lot of things. To have a super competitive team mate next to me will push me and will make me develop myself and learn a lot faster. In the end, it’s a fantastic thing.”
