Nicholas Latifi was the surprise winner of the third free practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday afternoon. The Canadian managed to improve Charles Leclerc's excellent time by six tenths in wet conditions.
At the end of the race, the Monegasque was suddenly confronted by Max Verstappen, who improved his time, but Leclerc was able to take back his P1 in no time. It was not enough, however, as Latifi took the opportunity to set the fastest time in the final seconds.
Leclerc and Alexander Albon finished in second and third place respectively. Max Verstappen, who was only on track for the last twenty minutes, finished fourth. George Russell completed the top five by keeping Fernando Alonso behind him.
