Four-time Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost has reportedly been the victim of a robbery at his home in Switzerland, and sustaining a head injury.
The 71-year-old was said to have been targeted at his residence in Nyon, where one of his sons was allegedly forced to open a safe during the incident. The assailants are understood to be on the run.
According to Swiss outlet Blick, the incident took place on Tuesday morning, 19 May, when a group of masked individuals entered the Prost family property in the canton of Vaud. Reports claim Prost sustained an injury during the ordeal, while his family were threatened as the intruders demanded access to the household safe.
Under duress, one of Prost’s sons was reportedly compelled to open the safe, while other members of the family were also threatened. What was taken from the property has not been confirmed, though the report notes Prost maintains close links to luxury watch manufacturers. Neither the Prost family nor the brands involved have commented on the incident to Swiss media.
