The Formula 2 sprint race was red-flagged following a heavy collision between Nikita Mazepin and Noboharu Matsushita at the 2019 Russian Grand Prix, but the pair have both been transferred to hopsital without fractures.
Mazepin, who started on pole in Sochi, and Matsushita, who started in P3, both collided with each other at the entry to Turn 3. The crash pushed Matsushita's car into the barrier on the outside of the turn.
Mazepin is believed to have made his way out of the car without any clear injuries but the condition of Matsushita has not been confirmed and the race has been red-flagged.
Good news, the Formula 2 Twitter account confirmed that both drivers have not suffered any fractures and they will be taken to hospital for further examinations following the scare.
