Spa-Francorchamps. A minute's silence will be held in memory of the race and the F2 announced more about his race number.
Anthoine Hubert died at the age of 22 during the
Formula 2 race in Belgium. The Frenchman had already won the championship and was already reigning GP3 champion one of the men who seemed to be on his way to
Formula 1. However, it was not to be, because a crash with Juan Manuel Correa was fatal to him.
The death of Hubert
Now a year later,
Formula 2 has officially announced that the number #19 will no longer be used. The number was no longer used in the rest of the 2019 season and in 2020 Formula 2 skipped numbers #18 and #19. Now the organisation has announced that #19 will never be used again.
In addition, F1, F2 and
Formula 3 will hold a minute's silence this weekend prior to the race in the Ardennes. The F2 has also designed a logo that will only be used this weekend for the F2 and F3 communication.
