'Formula 1, FIA and team bosses to sit down soon after Belgium fiasco'

Formula 1 never again wants a scenario like happened during the Belgian Grand Prix. According to Autosport.com the team bosses, the FIA and Formula 1 will discuss this week how to avoid such a situation in the future.

The Belgian Grand Prix was of course a real joke. Fans sat for hours in the rain waiting for the race that eventually wouldn't happen. The drivers drove three laps, but behind the safety car, and that was considered a race. Max Verstappen took the victory, but this will be avoided in the future.

According to Autosport.com the F1 owners want to talk to the teams and the FIA to prevent such a second Belgian GP. Stefano Domenicali reportedly thought the outcome of the Belgian GP was far from ideal and is open for discussion with the interested parties. There would need to be a rule change to prevent such a scenario in the future.

There are a number of possible solutions. It could be that from now on a minimum number of Safety Car laps need to be raced to be able to hand out points, or that there is a possibility that races can be held at a different time. For this, there has to be approval from F1, FIA and the teams, but after the fiasco at Spa, it seems unreal that anyone will vote against a new idea.
