Former McLaren Formula E driver Sam Bird spoke about what he believes is Lando Norris’s greatest strength.
Since joining McLaren in 2019, Lando Norris has stood out for his natural speed, comparable to some of the undisputed stars of his generation, such as Max Verstappen, George Russell, and Charles Leclerc.
In his seventh year in Formula 1, after finally securing his first win last season and unsuccessfully challenging Max Verstappen for the title, the British driver now finds himself with a real shot at becoming World Champion.
From the start of the season, Lando has been locked in a tight battle with teammate Oscar Piastri, who has also taken a remarkable step forward this year.
While the Australian performed better in the opening races, Norris has made up significant ground in the recent rounds, winning three of the last four GPs, including his home race at Silverstone in front of his fans.

Bird identifies Norris biggest strenght

Guesting on BBC’s Chequered Flag podcast, former McLaren Formula E driver Sam Bird spoke about what he believes is Lando’s greatest quality: ''He is fast. I mean he just has that natural raw talent and he's worked on it as well.''
''He loves being on his home simulator which has helped him. It's honed his skills. He's done that ever since he was in cadet in karting. Had a good rig at home and spent hours and hours and hours on iRacing and rFactor Pro. It's been a key part of his development.''
''He's worked with great driver coaches. When he was doing Formula 3, he was already testing an F2 car, and hen he was in F2, he was already testing F1 cars.''
Finally, he concluded: ''He was always getting that level above and he does just have that raw natural ability that is difficult to match. Not too many people are quicker.''
