The first punishment of the afternoon is given to Carlos Sainz. The Spaniard will drop three places on the grid for getting in Sergio Perez's way.

Poor qualifying

After a fairly dramatic qualifying session, Sainz now drops back to sixteenth place. According to the stewards, there was no need to get in Perez's way in the first corner.
In addition to a grid penalty, Sainz also receives a penalty point on his super license. However, in the past twelve months, Sainz hasn't picked up a single penalty point, which means that his total is only one point.
