Due to
George Russell's engine change, the final starting grid for the
Singapore Grand Prix looks slightly different than after qualifying on Saturday. The numbers 12 to 20 on the grid all move up one place.
Final starting grid Singapore GP
Charles Leclerc took pole position at the
Marina Bay Street Circuit, but got away well due to
Max Verstappen having to abort his flying lap. A frustrated Verstappen had to start his race from eighth place at a circuit where a good starting position is just so important.
It looks like it will come down to
Sergio Perez for
Red Bull Racing, at least at the start. The Mexican is next to Leclerc on the front row and will be only too happy to get through the first corner in a leading position. Meanwhile, there is also a highly motivated
Lewis Hamilton behind the drivers of
Ferrari and Red Bull, and Mercedes may be even more eager for a win than the other teams.
