2022 looks set to be an interesting year. Although there is plenty to see on track in the current season, the images just presented for the 2022 car specification show that it will be an undeniable pleasure to see these cars in action.

The purpose of the new cars

Each individual team is already working hard behind the scenes on their own interpretation of the regulations for next season. Nevertheless, Formula 1 wanted to give a hint so that fans can imagine what the car will look like.
The aim of the regulations is to improve the downforce, make overtaking easier and thus make the races more interesting. Nikolas Tombazis, head of technical affairs at the FIA, says: "We want to make it more possible for cars to race against each other and follow each other and have more exciting battles. We want to have tyres that allow them to fight each other without degrading or only giving a short interval for the one who attacks to attack."

"They are simpler than the current cars because a lot of the small parts have been removed, especially for the sidepods, the front wings are simpler. There is a diffuser that goes right under the car. Also, there are tunnels under the sidepods from front to back," Tombazis said during the unveiling event.
