The FIA has somewhat relaxed the rules regarding the so-called filming days of Formula 1 teams. These filming days are often used by teams for a 'shakedown,' the moment when the car goes out on track for the first time before the new season. Each team is allowed to use such a filming day twice per season.

FIA with relaxation for F1 teams

The film day is mainly used by F1 teams to go out on the track for a while prior to official testing for a new season. This allows the teams to check whether everything is working properly prior to the test and identify or even solve any problems right away.
Previously, a restriction for such a day was that only a maximum of 100 kilometres could be driven. From 2024 onwards, however, teams will be allowed to cover a greater distance, 200 kilometres to be precise, according to Article 10.4 of the regulations. This does come with the additional note that only one filming day per day is allowed. This will prevent a team from using both filming days at the same time which could even result in 400 kilometres being driven.
