The new Formula One season is due to start in two months time, but once again we are not getting the season that was planned in advance. FIA president Jean Todt thinks it will be another difficult start to the motorsport season.

Monte Carlo Rally

Todt attended the Monte Carlo Rally this weekend, going back to his roots. Indeed, between 1973 and 1981 he was co-driver to drivers such as Hannu Mikkola, Ove Andersson, Guy Frequelin and others, winning four World Championship races.
"It was important to start the 2021 World Championship season with the Monte-Carlo Rally," quoted AS. "We are facing a difficult start to the season, because it is a difficult time for the whole planet. Creativity is the key word when organizing major sporting events at this time. We need to have a different vision, and above all solidarity."

"I hope the worst is over, but the situation is still difficult," Todt continued. "Thanks to the COVID guidelines and protocols in place, the F1 Championship was the first international sports competition to restart last year, followed by rallying."
For now, the new Formula One season will kick off on 28 March with the race in Bahrain.
