On Monday evening, FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, announced he is considering making important changes to the polarising Stewards Penalty Guidelines.
As of 2025, Appendix B of the International Sporting Code included a set of updates regarding the penalties that motorsport figures could incur should they break the also heavily updated conduct guidelines. This move brought fierce criticism to the governing body.
On his Instagram account, Ben Sulayem posted the surprising announcement: "Following constructive feedback from drivers across our seven FIA World Championships, I am considering making improvements to Appendix B."

He admitted, "As a former rally driver, I understand the demands they face better than most."

"Appendix B is a key part of the International Sporting Code and is central in helping keep the sport accessible for all our sporting family. Humans make the rules, and humans can improve the rules. This principle of continuous improvement is something I have always believed in and is at the heart of all we do at the FIA."
It is not yet confirmed what changes, if any, will be made.
