The paths of Mick Schumacher and Ferrari are parting after this calendar year, the Italian formation announces on the official channel. It means the partnership between them will end after four seasons.
Schumacher was part of the Ferrari Driver Academy since 2019 and competed in Formula 2 for two seasons. From 2021, he was one of Haas F1's drivers, where he failed to convince. This calendar year, he was told that the US formation was parting ways with him.
The question was then whether Ferrari still wanted to continue with him. Behind the scenes, several talks have taken place recently, with them coming to the conclusion that a departure would be the best option.

Mercedes interested in Schumacher's services

Schumacher is reportedly in the interest of Mercedes to become a reserve driver there in 2023. Team boss Toto Wolff has repeatedly spoken positively about the qualities of the talented driver, for whom he still sees a successful future in Formula 1.
