'Ferrari reliability problems can't get any more updates'

Ferrari will bring a new update to the hybrid part of the engine before the Belgian or Italian Grand Prix. According to Corriere della Sera this is however not the part where the engine keeps breaking down.

In 2022 the development of the F1 engine will be frozen step by step. A large part of the engine may no longer be developed by the manufacturers, only the hybrid part. The deadline for that is in September this year, before the whole engine will have to last until 2025.

It is no secret that Ferrari has done everything possible to take all the risks with the new parts before the frozen development. Mattia Binotto told the Italian media that he is confident about the future, but the team's many dropouts and the problems with the ICE, MGU-K, MGU-H and TC cannot be solved just like that.

While the Ferrari's speed is increasing with the various updates, the breakdowns are becoming all the more painful. According to Corriere Ferrari will come up with an update to the hybrid part of the engine before the GP of Belgium or Italy, but that is not where the reliability problems are. The question therefore is to what extent this will hamper the team's title chances in the coming years.
