Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri is still confident his team can win the Formula 1 world championship in 2019 despite the Italian team's torrid start to the season.
While it appeared as though Ferrari would be quicker than anyone else in winter testing, Mercedes has stepped up in performance and taken four straight one-two finishes to start the season.
Ferrari will bring an updated power unit in the hopes of overturning the advantage to their rivals and Camilleri reiterated the team could still be successful this season.
“We have all the necessary elements and resources to be a credible competitor to win the championship,” he insisted during a conference call with analysts.
“We have two great drivers and a great team principal. We are a united, determined, talented and serene team which will give the maximum to finally achieve our ambitions.”

Team principal Mattia Binotto admitted the team had fallen behind but echoed Camilleri's sentiments in the team's race preview for the Spanish Grand Prix.
"We are currently behind in the championship and we have to catch up, which we know means that our development work will be the key to this season.
"It's only down to a big team effort with everyone pushing hard to make up ground that we have been able to bring these developments forward."
