Max Verstappen secured his fifth pole position of the 2025 season, claiming the top spot on the grid for the first time since the British Grand Prix. He narrowly beat Lando Norris by 0.077 seconds, showcasing his precision and skill on a challenging low-downforce track.
The Red Bull driver expressed satisfaction with his performance to GPBlog, noting that Q3 felt strong and the car had been performing well throughout the weekend. He highlighted that the adjustments made to the RB21 after the final practice session allowed him to push harder during qualifying.
Looking ahead to the race, Verstappen acknowledged that the competition has often been tougher on Sundays this season. He emphasized that his team will give their all and see how the race unfolds, remaining focused on maximizing their chances on Sunday.

Rosberg at a loss for words: Verstappen 'is one of the greats'

Max Verstappen won the pole position for the Italian Grand Prix, edging out Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Verstappen finished just 77 thousandths of a second ahead of Norris, denying McLaren another front-row lockout this season and surprising four-time world champion Nico Rosberg. The race marks Verstappen's fifth pole of the season, and the first since the British Grand Prix last July.
