From Juan Pablo Montoya slamming Max Verstappen’s criticism of the current regulation, to Kimi Antonelli reacting to being the favourite for the championship, we bring you the biggest stories across the sport on our F1 today.

F1 race winner demands crackdown on Verstappen

Montoya has called for harsh sanctions for Verstappen amid his explosive rant and criticism of the current Formula 1 regulations. The former McLaren driver demanded that the four-time world champion be “parked” amid his criticism, which he likened to a sign of disrespect towards the sport. Verstappen has been vocal about his dislike of the current F1 rules, with the Red Bull Racing driver comparing them to being “anti-racing.”
Addressing Verstappen’s criticism, Montoya called for consequences to be meted out to the Dutch driver, including adding penalty points to his racing licence, so he moves closer to a race ban.

Antonelli plays down title hype

While Montoya aired his frustration with Verstappen’s criticism of the current regulations, Antonelli has no intention of resting on his laurels in the title fight despite securing a third consecutive win in Miami. The Italian driver moved 20 points clear of his team-mate after his win in Florida, with George Russell enduring another difficult weekend after also missing out on the podium in Suzuka.
The standings now tilt in favour of the Italian, who holds almost a full race margin, while remaining fully aware that the title fight is still a long way from over. Sharing his thoughts on the championship, the Italian highlighted the strong momentum he is currently enjoying, while stressing that the season remains long and unpredictable.
