McLaren Formula E driver said on the Chequered Flag Podcast,
“Russell braked on a straight line when Verstappen was right beside him. This happened between turn 12 and turn 13, and Verstappen ended up briefly in front of Russell. If I'm being very cynical, I would say he did this deliberately because according to the rules you cannot overtake behind the safety car.”Red Bull causes issues for Mercedes
After the Canadian Grand Prix,
Red Bull Racing submitted two protests against George Russell. This, in return, messed up some of the mercedes employee's schedules.
Ahead of the F1 movie premiere in New York City, he said, "
"Max [Verstappen] didn't even know there was a protest. I don't know what was going on and what they were thinking."
"I'm glad nothing came of it. It was a bit
of a waste of everyone's time. Shov [Andrew Shovlin] and Ron [Meadows] both missed their flight, which was obviously a problem for everyone. But now it's behind us and we can look forward."
The protests were rejected by the stewards and neither recieved a penalty for their actions.
