Released in cinemas last June, F1: The Movie quickly racked up eye-watering box-office numbers, grossing an impressive $633,142,436 to date and becoming the most successful film of Brad Pitt’s career.
Speaking at the BBC Academy Awards luncheon in Los Angeles, Bruckheimer, who has produced a string of blockbuster hits throughout his career such as Top Gun and Armageddon, confirmed that work on a sequel is already underway.
"We're working on a sequel. It was a long journey to get the movie made because we had to endure a couple of strikes – but in the end, the movie entertained audiences around the world. I never worked with Brad Pitt before and it's really a thrill to work with Brad."
