'F1: The Movie' producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that work is already underway on a sequel to the box-office smash starring Brad Pitt. "We're working on a sequel"
- Jerry BruckheimerReleased in cinemas last June, F1: The Movie quickly racked up eye-watering box-office numbers, grossing an impressive $633,142,436 to date and becoming the most successful film of Brad Pitt’s career.
Speaking at the BBC Academy Awards luncheon in Los Angeles, Bruckheimer, who has produced a string of blockbuster hits throughout his career such as Top Gun and Armageddon, confirmed that work on a sequel is already underway.
"We're working on a sequel. It was a long journey to get the movie made because we had to endure a couple of strikes – but in the end, the movie entertained audiences around the world. I never worked with Brad Pitt before and it's really a thrill to work with Brad."

'F1: The Movie' gains critical acclaim after winning awards in two categories
F1: The Movie picked up seven nominations at the Critics’ Choice Awards. The film went on to claim two awards, winning Best Editing for Stephen Mirrione and Best Sound thanks to the work of Al Nelson, Gwendolyn Yates Whittle, Gary A. Rizzo, Juan Peralta, and Gareth John.
It was also shortlisted in the categories for Best Cinematography, Best Score, Best Song, Best Visual Effects and Best Stunt Design.
