F1 Live | Qualifying for the Qatar Grand Prix

The free practice sessions for the Qatar Grand Prix are over and we can now focus on qualifying. It is expected that Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton will decide which driver will start from pole position.

Mercedes and Red Bull Racing have been battling it out both on and off track this weekend. With three races to go the excitement in Formula 1 is palpable. With overtaking difficult on the Qatar circuit, it is crucial for both drivers to be on the front row of the grid.

Verstappen, however, will not have an easy time doing so. The Dutchman is once again up against a fast Hamilton who seems to have the best chance of starting from the front. The Briton was faster in almost all sectors during the free practice sessions, but Red Bull has proven before this season that it can surprise.

The Dutchman can't count on his team mate Sergio Perez for the time being. The Mexican raced eighth fastest twice on Friday and seems to be struggling to find the right set-up. The Austrians will therefore be working hard to get everything ready in time for the qualifying session.
