Max Verstappen set the fastest time in Q3 and will start the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia from pole position on Sunday. The four-time world champion finished just under three tenths ahead of Lewis Hamilton.
Verstappen was in stunning form throughout qualifying, topping Q1, Q2 and Q3 to take his first pole position of the season. The Dutchman will be hoping to carry his pace over into the race and take his first win of the season.
Isack Hadjar was second after the first runs but slipped down to third after an excellent final lap by Hamilton. The Frenchman though will start eighth due to a five-place grid penalty.
Kimi Antonelli could only do one run in Q3 after having a lap time deleted in Q2. The championship leader will start in third after Hadjar's penalty, with Charles Leclerc also starting on the second row, with the two McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri on Row 3.
George Russell could only qualify P8 in a huge blow to his title hopes. He will start seventh, ahead of Hadjar, with Pierre Gasly and Gabriel Bortoleto completing the top ten.

The big surprise in Q1 was that both Aston Martins made it through to Q2, with Nico Hulkenberg, the two Haas drivers, Alex Albon and the two Cadillacs crashing out. The two Aston Martins were knocked out in Q2 alongside Liam Lawson, Carlos Sainz, Arvid Lindblad and Gabriel Bortoleto.
