As every year ahead of the Abu Dhabi weekend, the usual drivers' dinner for the 2025 class took place — but who ended up footing the bill?
All the drivers attended the dinner except for the two Aston Martin drivers and Nico Hulkenberg, with the remaining 17 enjoying a pleasant evening at a restaurant in Abu Dhabi.
Unsurprisingly, social media users immediately started speculating about who picked up the bill, or whether the drivers decided to split it.
In a recent video shared by Mercedes on social media, George Russell said “Lewis (Hamilton) was in charge of the order and he literally ordered everything. Everything possible on the menu,” hinting that it was his former teammate who ended up footing the bill for everyone.

Last year, the honor went to Valtteri Bottas, who, at his final Formula 1 race (at the time it wasn’t yet known if he would return, as later announced by Cadillac), confirmed that he had paid the bill: “I can confirm, it was my pleasure.”
The Finn also revealed the total amount: “I think it was about 20,000 local money, whatever that is in Euros.”

Hamilton shares heartfelt message as 2025 season comes to an end

The seven-time world champion endured his toughest season in Formula 1 in terms of results, but he still made a point of bringing the entire grid together for what has now become a year-end tradition.
The Brit was the first of the drivers to post about the dinner on Instagram, sharing a photo of everyone gathered (except for the three mentioned earlier) along with a heartfelt message for his colleagues.
