Irish talent Alex Dunne parted ways with McLaren in October, but a move to Red Bull's junior team did not materialize. The F2 driver addressed his future after the feature race in Qatar.
"The rest of information that I have I'm going to keep to myself. But no, I think it was a decision that we needed to make."

Answering GPblog's question in Qatar, he said: "I chose to leave (McLaren). I have a goal set out and that is to be a Formula 1 driver. That decision was one that needed to be made to have that opportunity. That's why we did what we did."
McLaren has won back-to-back constructors' titles in F1. About why he opted to leave the team, the Irishman continued: "Yes, it's (McLaren) one of the best teams on the grid, but it also has probably the best driver lineup on the grid. Realistically those two drivers are not going anywhere for a long time.
"The rest of information that I have I'm going to keep to myself. But no, I think it was a decision that we needed to make. It's one that I was more than comfortable making, it was my decision actually.
"So I think moving forward we're in the right place and we know where we want to be."
