Marcus Ericsson has said that he doesn't see much point in his role as a reserve driver for Sauber.
Ericsson is focusing on Indycar racing next season and believes that his role as a reserve driver is pointless as he will be racing Indycar at the time he is needed.
Sauber have said that they will be looking for another reserve driver to share the role with Ericsson.
"We still need to sit down after the season and discuss that because I made it very clear that I want to focus 100% on the racing programme for 2019 and with this IndyCar option I want to go all the way on that," Ericsson said to autosport.com
"I'm still happy to keep a connection to the team but I need to see exactly what I will do and not do and what my role will be."

"But for sure my 110% focus needs to be on IndyCar because otherwise there's no point going there" the Swedish driver said.
The 28 year old said that he may have driven his last race in Formula 1 but wouldn't rule out a return.
