It came as no surprise to anyone that Lewis Hamilton took his seventh world title in Turkey, but the moment this actually happened was special. Of course, especially for the driver himself, who, over the last few laps, thought about how far he has come.
"All the emotions, from my father who had three or four jobs to let me race because he really believed in me, that all came out. It's the first time I've cried in the car, so it was really emotional," says Hamilton as a guest of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Hamilton has advice for himself

Hamilton's whole life is dedicated to this goal. For instance, he has been racing for 27 years, after which he gets to see very old images of himself. What advice would he give that young guest with the knowledge and experience he now has.
"Never doubt yourself and always keep believing in yourself. In the end you are just a human being and like everyone else you will have ups and down. You will constantly be fighting with your mind to perform the impossible. There will be days when you will feel like you are not going to succeed, but you won't give up."
