As with football, Germany takes the lead in European motorsport season

Whereas in the United States the NASCAR championship has been racing since last week and the IndyCar will also start at the beginning of June, the race entertainment in Europe is still some way off. Just like football, it will be the Germans who will be the first to get back on the tarmac.
They do this with a four-day test for the DTM at the Nürburgring. This will start on June 8th and, just like the racing events, will have to meet all the conditions surrounding the containment of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Marcel Mohaupt, chairman of the organisation of the DTM (ITR), makes it clear in a press statement that the guidelines for these test days are just as strict as any other event. "ITR will introduce infection prevention measures for all personnel involved. This includes strict distance rules, limits on visitor numbers and hygiene regulations".
It is not yet exactly known when the DTM-championship will start. In March, a provisional calendar was presented on which the weekend of 11 and 12 July was indicated as the first date. That first race should then take place on the Norisring. Mohaupt says he will publish a new calendar soon.
