Domenicali: ''It's going to be quite a challenge to race before September''

Formula 1 is at an important point. What the future of the sport will look like may change completely due to the choices made during this crisis, Stefano Domenicali also sees.

''I think the FIA and Liberty Media are thinking very well about the future of the sport. It's going in the right direction and you either hang on now or you lose weight. Now you have to take the opportunity to keep Formula 1 intact, otherwise you'll never get the platform to the level where it was'", says the former Ferrari executives opposite Motorsport.com.

F1 is busy getting started again, but as president of the FIA single seater commision, Domenicali also has other classes under him. ''We'll see when it's time to start the F2, F3 and F4. In addition, for those classes, we will also have to see how we can reduce costs so that the teams can survive the crisis''.

Where Formula 1 aims for a start at the beginning of July, Domenicali does not see that made. ''It's not just about the country in which the race takes place, but also where all the teams and staff come from. I wouldn't close the door completely, but it will be a very big challenge to start F1 before'', concludes Domenicali.
