Yuki Tsunoda finished outside of the Top 10 for the second time in a row, after he crossed the finish line in 13th place, starting from the pit lane at the Spanish Grand Prix. Tsunoda had a chance for points, but changes didn't improve the RB21
As the Austrian team decided to change the Japanese driver's rear wing and several changes were made to his setup, therefore, he started from the pit lane. However, already by the time he left garage, he knew something was still not working.
Asked about whether the car felt better, Tsunoda told GPblog among others: "Unfortunately not really. I mean I already felt from the lap to grid, but yes. Unfortunately we weren’t able to make a step that's the level that we want."
Moreover, he added that the safety car getting called out after Andrea Kimi Antonelli had to retire his Mercedes car also did not help him either. "In the last safety car didn't help to be honest, even though the pace was not the level we were looking at, compared to midfield it was alright and there was potential to score points today so that was a little bit of a shame."
So far since joining
Red Bull Racing, Tsunoda has collected seven points in total, and he is currently in
15th place in the drivers' championship.
